Disputes are inherent in any contractual relationship and highly critical in property development and construction.
The disagreements come in different forms of claims but are mainly related to extra costs and time, where disputes could be estimated even beyond 50% of the construction contract value, from thousand to multimillion-dollar ones.
These Variation Orders and Extension of Time claims could entirely jeopardise the financial viability of not only the project but also the companies involved, leading to receivership in some instances.
